PLAYSTATION 1

Sony Playstation was my salvation back in the days of Primary 6 up to secondary 3. Although it only lasted for 4 years, the games I've played were unforgettable. One game (Suikoden series) actually inspired me to write a 13-page essay that my English teacher Ms Jean Ng had to take home to read and mark because it was too long Gahaha!

After years of not playing Suikoden and Final Fantasy 8 (the best RPG's in the world and I don't care about your opinions!) I finally got them in my PSP (actually already had FF8 for about half a year, just that my PSP was in hibernation due to my faulty charger). So today I just got a PSP charger from Zee-zee drop, downloaded Suikoden 1 and 2, found a way to copy the saved data from Suikoden 1 to Suikoden 2 to get best ending (it's harder than you think because it isn't an ISO file, it's an EBOOT file so it's not just a matter of simply loading the data), fixed my bro's bricked PSP (bricking is a term used for when a PSP is rendered useless due to it's flash files being tempered with, making it non-responsive and nothing appears when you switch it on, making it as useless as a brick thus the term) and I'm smiling like a mad man! I'm so happy, all my childhood games are playable.

Squall Leonhart, from FF8 and my favourite protagonist ever. Silent, cool, doesn't give a crap about anything but has a soft spot here and there. My inspiration to get by when I was in secondary 1. I was really hated and I do mean HATED, Hafiz can vouch for me. This character really spurred me on to just go on and give less thought about what people thought about me.
Random note, Cloud Strife and FF7 are so OVERRATED.

Luca Blight, my favourite bad guy with a sad past. He's the primary antagonist of Suikoden II. The bloodthirsty "Mad Prince".

The great soundtracks. Classic compositions that I'll never forget!

They're all back and I feel good :)

Brand New Ancient

Music can't be artistic if it's just music. Get it if you do, don't if you won't :D

I swear I was just lying down listening to random songs on my handphone and I just happened to scroll through my favourite Japanese band UVERworld. After such a long time of not listening to their music, I finally remember what it felt like to follow their news everyday and stuff. I just love Japanese in case you didn't know. I find that it's a beautiful language. On top of that, Japanese are geniuses since they came up with probably the most useful technological advances that we use as daily necessities.

Back to the topic. I really think UVERworld is, or at least were (havent heard the new album), talented like MAD. This song is just plain art. I know that my usual cup of tea is plain rock with crazy solos and impossible vocals but these guys have something that I just can't put a finger on, but I totally love their music, or at least most of them. They love to improvise and this one song hits me the most. I dunno why! It's art! An acquired taste I guess. Sometimes you just gotta ponder on it, sit back and take it in slowly to really understand or at least come up with your own views/take on what you've observed. Brand New Ancient ---------

I know U're coming home pretty soon and I know I'm being selfish, but I wish U'd stay this time :(

Sands of time

Another day lost,
amongst the ever-flowing sands of time.
We're all waiting,
for the day our existence is buried
under the sand which we've spent.
The currency of life,
seconds, minutes, hours, days, months and years.
Much of how we spend them, predetermined,
most, obliviously wasted.
None can master, none can tip,
the hourglass to suit one's liking.
When the top half runs empty,
regret or contentment fills up the void.

How will you spend your sands today?

The distance draws my mind over,
the time difference complicates my clock -_-".
The presence lost, yet everywhere,
embodied by places, things, memories of U.
Another day, countless sand lost in the hourglass,
how I wish to tip it, to our yesterdays,
or speed up the flow, to when we'll reunite.
Impossible, but it's never wrong to dream,
for a lover's a fool, and a fool's dreamer.
Waiting for, thinking of, yearning for,
the days our sands flow will in unison.
I'm spending my sands, until I run out,
loving U, towards what I believe,
is my contentment.
